London Underground strike action: 21-24 April

Due to planned strike action, there will be little to no service across all London Underground services, including the Piccadilly line to Heathrow, between 21 and 24 April 2026

Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, and local bus services will run as normal on these days. Please plan your journey prior to travelling to Heathrow, and allow for extra time where necessary, as these services will be busier than normal.

As part of the economic regulation of Heathrow, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) introduced a service quality rebate scheme on 1 July 2003.

The scheme was reviewed and extended by the CAA during the price control review for Q5 (March 2008) and Q6 (March 2014) to include new measures, increased standards to existing measures and an increase to the amount of revenue at risk.

The aspects of Heathrow's performance measured includes queuing at the departures security area.

The performance reports for our Border Force and Central security queues reports have been consolidated into a comprehensive performance report that encompasses measures, targets, and incentives.
