Piccadilly line industrial action: 2-4 June

Due to planned industrial action, there will be no Piccadilly line London Underground service to or from Heathrow on Tuesday 2 June and Thursday 4 June. A normal service is expected on Wednesday 3 June.

Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, replacement buses and local bus services will run as normal on these days.

Please plan your journey before travelling to Heathrow and allow extra time where necessary, as these services will be busier than usual.

Cabin baggage liquid rules

Prepare for security

Heathrow has completed an upgrade to its security scanners. This change is designed to make the security process simpler and more straightforward for passengers.

When travelling through any Heathrow terminal, you can:

  • Keep liquids in your cabin bag.
  • Carry liquids in individual containers of up to 2 litres each. Remember refillable metal or double walled containers must be emptied but these can be refilled once through security.
  • Leave large electrical items, such as laptops and tablets, inside your bag.

You do not need to remove these items at security.

Flying from another airport

Not all airports use the same security equipment. If you’re flying from another UK or international airport, check the security rules before you travel, as liquid limits and screening requirements may be different.

What not to take

Banned and restricted items

Some items are completely banned from the aircraft and others are prohibited in the cabin. Please pack accordingly and leave the banned items at home...

Baggage allowances

Baggage allowances depend on airline policies, fare paid, class of travel, route, aircraft type and government regulations.
