Everything you need to know about travelling to Heathrow by bicycle.
Heathrow can be reached by bike via a network of cycle paths. You can plan a cycle-only route to and from the airport using the Transport for London journey planner. You can also use the Heathrow cycle map.
Please note: there is currently no direct cycle route to Terminals 2 and 3 due to construction work to the main road tunnel. Bicycles can be parked in racks at the Heathrow Cycle Hub.
Free cycle parking is available at:
Bikes can also be safely stored in the left baggage office for up to 90 days.
For security reasons, bicycles will be removed if not parked in the designated areas.
Space is available for cycles, but it's limited at peak times so you might want to arrive at your platform early. For more information contact Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line.
You cannot take non-folding bicycles on moving escalators at any underground station. Folded bicycles can be taken free of charge on all sections of the network at all times.
Non-folding bicycles can be taken free of charge on some sections outside peak times (07:30-09:30 and 16:00-19:00, Monday to Friday, except public holidays).
On the Piccadilly Line, non-folding bicycles are allowed outside peak times in either direction between Barons Court and Hounslow West/Uxbridge Cockfosters and Oakwood.
For more information, contact London Underground on +44 (0)20 7222 1234 or visit the Transport for London website.
Bicycles can be carried free from 09:45-16:30 and after 18:30 on most services without booking. Racking facilities may be available. Folding bikes can be taken on any service free of charge.
For more information contact South Western Railway. (Please note: bicycles are not permitted on rail-link buses or substitute buses.)

The Heathrow Cycle Hub also offers a bike boxing service for taking bicycles on flights.
If a bicycle has been identified as potentially abandoned, a notice will be secured to the handlebar explaining that if it is not removed within 21 days, it will be removed by Heathrow Airport Limited and held securely in a compound for six weeks. If no claim is made after six weeks, the bicycle will be donated to The London Bike Hub or recycled. We do not sell abandoned bikes to members of the public.
