Heathrow rail engineering works: 16 & 17 November

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services to or from Heathrow on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November.

Piccadilly line services will be running as normal on both days.

Passengers should plan their journeys before travelling, and allow for additional time where necessary as trains that are running will be much busier than normal.

London Underground to Heathrow Airport

London Underground's Piccadilly Line provides the most cost-effective rail route between Heathrow and the capital.

How to get the London Underground to London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

Travel information

Serving Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5, the Piccadilly line runs a frequent service between the airport and a number of locations in central London, along with convenient connections to other Tube and rail services.

Journeys to central London typically take 50 minutes, and you shouldn't have to wait longer than ten minutes for a train, even off-peak.

Standard operating hours are between 05:00 - 23:30, though the line operates a 'Night Tube', which runs throughout the night on Friday and Saturday nights. Please note, Night Tube does not serve Terminal 4.

Tickets and fares

Travel on the Piccadilly line starts from £5.50 at all times of the day, for a journey to or from Heathrow, where that journey starts, ends or goes through Zone 1.

You can pay for your travel on the Piccadilly line using the following contactless payment options:

Transport for London Oyster card
Contactless payment mechanism

Single journey tickets and Zones 1-6 Travelcards can be purchased from airport station ticket machines.

Heathrow has three London Underground stations – one for Terminals 2 and 3 and one each at Terminal 4 and Terminal 5
