Heathrow rail engineering works: 16 & 17 November

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services to or from Heathrow on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November.

Piccadilly line services will be running as normal on both days.

Passengers should plan their journeys before travelling, and allow for additional time where necessary as trains that are running will be much busier than normal.

Connecting communities to the World of Work

Heathrow World of Work

Heathrow is the largest single-site employer in the UK, employing thousands of local residents. Careers at Heathrow span sectors including security, engineering, infrastructure, customer service, retail and hospitality to name just a few.

Heathrow’s World of Work is an inclusive employability programme that inspires young people through real experiences of work, building their confidence and skills so they can unlock jobs and careers at the airport and beyond.

The programme takes young people on a journey through three stages, inspiring young people to pilot their careers:

Take-off (ages 7 – 11)

At primary age, Heathrow World of Work offers pupils a light-touch and fun introduction to work, highlighting the range of opportunities at Heathrow through fun challenges.

In-flight (ages 11 – 16)

Heathrow World of Work helps students at secondary schools and further education colleges develop the skills needed to unlock career opportunities through curriculum-linked skills workshops, work experiences, and careers support based around the airport.

Destination (ages 16+)

The Heathrow Employment and Skills Academy unlocks early career pathways and entry-level job opportunities empowering young people to start their career journey.
