Here at Heathrow, we want to make the rest of the world as accessible as possible, which is why we are introducing an increase in flights with various airlines, both old and new. Take a look at the new and more frequent routes coming to Heathrow this summer, allowing you to explore even more beautiful countries worldwide.
BA will be starting a new route to Abu Dhabi on the 20th of April, allowing you to explore the Middle Eastern jewel easier than ever.
The Corniche - one of the best ways to enjoy a scenic day in Abu Dhabi is by strolling down the iconic 8-km stretch of waterfront. You can take advantage of the amazing beach activities down the manicured paths and cool off by taking a dip in the calm waters.
Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque – this is one of the must-see landmarks in the UAE capital. The massive structure is made up of 82 domes and towering marinates, all in white marble for a truly striking scene. It was completed in 2007 and named in honour of the country’s late president, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Ferrari World – located on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, visiting Ferrari World should be on anyone’s bucket list who is a massive fan of the Italian supercar maker. The large indoor theme park is plastered with the famous Prancing Horse logo and is home to the ‘fastest in the world’ rollercoaster.
BA will also be flying to Kos and Izmir, both launching on the 18th of May and brand new routes to London Heathrow. These European hot spots are ideal for a quick summer break to soak up some much-needed sun.
Kos is home to stunning sandy and blue-water beaches that offer a relaxing holiday where you can unwind and get some much-needed vitamin D in peace.
Tigaki Beach - a very well-kept beach with plenty of sunbeds for a comfortable visit.
Agios Stefanos Beach – you can ring a bell when you arrive to climb to the top of the island on a mountain goat track.
Therma Beach – otherwise known as Bubble Beach, you can swim in volcanic heated hot springs!
Located on Turkey’s Aegean coast, Izmir is a quaint city filled with cultural spots reflecting Turkey’s warmth and welcoming nature.
Kemeralti Market – if you’re a sucker for seafood, then this is a must-visit, as it is home to several good seafood restaurants. Visitors can also take advantage of the antiques and elegant shops in the buzzing area.
Saat Kulesi (Clock Tower) – first built in 1901, the elegant monument stands proudly in Konak Square, adding visual excellence. It is now an important symbol of the city of Izmir and a must-see.
