Heathrow rail engineering works: 16 & 17 November

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services to or from Heathrow on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November.

Piccadilly line services will be running as normal on both days.

Passengers should plan their journeys before travelling, and allow for additional time where necessary as trains that are running will be much busier than normal.

Dive into delightful Duesseldorf

Known as the fashion capital of Germany, Dusseldorf offers the very best in art and music for those wanting to explore the country's more creative side. The city's blend of tradition and modernism is felt throughout.

The Rhine Tower, the tallest building in Dusseldorf, offers the best viewpoint in the city. It has a slow-revolving observation deck where you can sit and enjoy a drink while taking in the views from every angle. The Rhine Promenade is great for an evening stroll along the riverside. On the way, you will pass by famous landmarks such as St Lambertus Church.

If you walk far enough, you will eventually reach Burgplatz, the central square on the bank of the Rhine. Here, you will see the city’s finest sights, such as Cartwheeler’s Fountain and the iconic Schlossturm tower. The square has a lively and bustling atmosphere, reflecting the cheer of this unique city.

Hop over to hearty Hamburg

Hamburg is Germany’s second biggest city, flowing with pints of beer and buzzing with an electric culture. It is known as the rock ‘n’ roll city of the country, housing big-name concerts in the 60s, such as The Beatles. Today, it is a cool and trendy place to visit with lots to explore and experience.

The best place to start your visit to Hamburg is at St Pauli Fischmarkt. The name doesn’t reflect the place as there is a lot more than just fresh fish there with long tables of people drinking and snacking, as well as lots of stalls selling fruit, veg, clothing and jewellery, plus much more. It is the central hub of Humburg and is a great place to spend a few hours of exploration.

If you fancy a bit of a treat, then head over to Literaturhauscafé. It is located in a beautiful old building filled with glistening chandeliers and intricate details. The menu features fresh and regional dishes for a real taste of Hamburg.

Strut your stuff in stunning Stuttgart

Germany’s sixth-largest city, Stuttgart, is a vibrant city with an array of parks and gardens and impressive vineyards to discover and explore. It is also home to two grand castles and most of the region’s museums, so if you want to get back to nature and visit some trendy museums, then this is the place for you.

Stuttgart is sometimes referred to as the ‘Cradle of the Automobile,’ which means the birthplace of automobiles. One of the best things to do in the city is pay a visit to the Mercedes-Benz and Porche museums where you can discover more about the brands’ histories. A total must for car lovers.

The city is also home to some cultural and art museums, such as Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, if you’d like to see some beautiful artistic pieces. One of the most famous landmarks in the city is Schlossplatz Palace, a place of solitude that is also well worth a visit.
