Heathrow rail engineering works: 16 & 17 November

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line services to or from Heathrow on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November.

Piccadilly line services will be running as normal on both days.


Passengers should plan their journeys before travelling, and allow for additional time where necessary as trains that are running will be much busier than normal.

Smoking at Heathrow

In line with British law on smoking in enclosed public spaces, Heathrow is a smoke-free airport. This includes the smoking of traditional cigarettes and the vaping of E-cigarettes.

Smoking outside the airport

Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the terminal building. However, please be aware that once you have passed through security control, you will not be able to smoke or vape anywhere on the premises.

 

Vaping and E-cigarettes at Heathrow

Vaping is permitted in designated areas outside the terminal building. However, passengers are not permitted to use E-cigarettes within the Heathrow premises.

If you are intending to carry E-cigarettes in your hand luggage, please check with your airline to ensure they are allowed on board the aircraft.

 

Smoking if you're transferring to a connecting flight

If you are catching a connecting flight at Heathrow, please note that smoking is not permitted during the connection process. It's only possible to access the outdoor smoking areas by entering the UK via Passport Control. You would then have to pass through security control to return to the departure lounge.

e-cigarettes

Passengers are not permitted to use electronic cigarettes within our premises. Where you are intending to carry cigarettes in your hand luggage, please check with your airline to ensure they are allowed on board the aircraft.
