Due to the current closure of the tunnel side bores, cycling to the CTA is not possible. However, there are some free alternatives:
Park at PEx colleague car park (Eastern Perimeter Road) where secure cycle lockers have been installed in the southwest quadrant (please access via the pedestrian/cycle gate by the roundabout). Free buses take colleagues to terminals 2 and 3 every six minutes at peak times (04:00 - 07:00, 12:30 - 15:00, 20:30 - 23:00). Outside of these times there is a bus every 10 minutes. Cycle parking is provided in the form of individual lockers, you will need your own padlock. Padlocks should not be used when there are no bikes inside.
Park your bike at Terminal 5 or Hatton Cross and use free the inter-terminal trains between approx. 05:15 and midnight. The Piccadilly Line operates up to every 10 minutes and the Heathrow Express operates every 15 minutes. Elizabeth line also operates in the evenings and at weekends, every 30 minutes.
If you have a folding bike, you can take it with you on any of the trains mentioned above.
Non-folding bikes can be taken on Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line services outside of peak hours.
Our cycle parking is scattered around the campus to ease your commute when you decide to travel in by bicycle. Take a look at the cycle map to see where your closest parking facilities are.
We are currently in the process of improving some of our cycle parking facilities, keep an eye out for updates.
The Heathrow Cycle Hub also offers a bike boxing service for taking bicycles on flights.
The Cycle Hub is located next to the Heathrow Academy. Team Heathrow have access to discounts and offers on cycle accessories and services.
Join our cycle events throughout the year, which are often advertised through digital channels, Way2Go Terminal Roadshow events and at the Cycle Hub.
If you work or live near the Cargo Centre and are looking for expert advice or minor repairs on your bike, visit the Heathrow Cycle Hub Pop-Up every Wednesday from 10:30 to 14:30.
Each year we celebrate “Bike Week”, where stalls by Runways Cycling and Metropolitan Police/Bike Register inform Team Heathrow about the benefits of cycling, as well as special offers across the week.
Look out for details.
With support from the Metropolitan Police, this yearly event offers Team Heathrow Colleagues with information about cycle safety and free bike registering.

For those that can, walking is a great way to get to work and look after your wellbeing…
20,000 Team Heathrow colleagues live within 3 miles of the airport, making walking a potential opportunity for a reliable, healthy, and cost-effective commute. Many of us also live within walking distance of a bus, tube, or rail station, which means incorporating a short walk into your daily commute could be very easy to do.
Starting and ending your day with a short walk can provide great benefits physically and mentally. Wake your body up for the day, or decompress after work, and feel the health benefits of walking regularly.
Always consider your safety and follow safe walking routes.
Team Heathrow colleagues can download the Way2Go App to get rewarded on your sustainable commute.
