  • Area: 74,601 square metres
  • Airlines: 17 including: BKS Air Transport, Cambiran Airlines, Brussels Airlines
  • First flight: British Airways 5362 to Edinburgh
  • Last flight: British Airways 970 departed to Hanover
  • Closed: 30th June 2015

Other facts:

  • Catered for approximately 13.8 million passengers on 123,000 flights annually;
  • Over 60% of flights went to UK and EU countries;
  • The terminal operated BA Concorde charter flights – champagne specials which simply flew around the Bay of Biscay and back again.
  • Opened: 1955, and reopened in 2014
  • Area: 40,000 square metres
  • Airlines: 24 including: Virgin Atlantic, Air China, Egyptair, Swiss, Air New Zealand, Flybe
  • First flight: United Airlines 958 from Chicago

  • Terminal 2 was awarded for World’s Best Airport Terminal at Skytax’s World Airport Awards;
  • Across the UK, Terminal 2 has supported 35,000 jobs;
  • Terminal 2 is almost 4 times the size of Buckingham Palace.
  • Opened: 13th November 1961
  • Area: 98,962 square metres
  • Airlines: 18 including: Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Qantas, American Airlines, Emirates, Delta, Finnair, Japan Airlines, Maroc Air.

  • Over 15 million passengers travel through Terminal 3 every year, on over 76,000 flights;
  • More than 45% of flights go to non-EU countries;
  • The Terminal was originally called the “Oceanic Terminal”.
  • Opened: 1st April 1986
  • Area: 105,481 square metres
  • Airlines: 35 including: Delta, KLM, Etihad Airlines, Air France, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air

Other facts:

  • Heathrow Terminal 4 was originally the base for British Airways before they moved to Terminal 5 in 2008;
  • It was opened by His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Princess Diana;
  • The Terminal cost around £200 million to build.
  • Opened: 14th March 2008
  • Area: 353,020 square metres
  • Airlines: British Airways, Iberia, American Airlines
  • First flight: British Airways 026 arriving from Hong Kong

Other facts:

  • Terminal 5 was rated Skytrax World’s Best Terminal for 5 years in a row between 2012-2016;
  • 60,000 people were involved in building Terminal 5;
  • At almost a quarter of a mile long, Terminal 5 is the equivalent length of 40 Routemaster double deck buses parked end to end.
